More Mitts 2

Posted by: Steve on: April 8, 2011

The colourful fingerless mitts for Jenny are almost half done!  I’m now praying that I have enough of the yarn left to at least make the second mitt.  Whether they have button bands or not will very much depend on how the yarn holds out.  So, the first mitt now looks like this: I won’t [...]

More Mitts?

Posted by: Steve on: April 6, 2011

Yes, I’m afraid so!  As a project to break up the strain of knitting the sweater in black, these mitts should prove effective!  It’s the Fable Fingerless Mitts pattern again, but now it’s an adventure.  I’m using the yarn Jenny bought for me yesterday as I only have 50g of it.  These mitts will be for [...]

Oh Delight!

Posted by: Steve on: April 5, 2011

Today, while hunting for 6mm DPNs and circulars, we found a delightful shop! I say “shop” but “Emporium” would really be more appropriate! Aladdin’s Cave in fact! Frog Mitts

Posted by: Steve on: March 11, 2011

I have just completed the second part of the Frog Trilogy!  This time, it’s a pair of fingerless mitts.  The original pattern includes wrist straps but I left them out for this particular pair.  I decided not to put the frogs fully on the backs of the mitts as I thought that would look too [...]

Baby Knits

Posted by: Steve on: February 20, 2011

Finished a nice set of lace pattern bootees and mittens yesterday: Lace Pattern Bootee and Mitten Set I used the 4-ply Lace Pattern Set pattern in Hayfield baby’s bootique booklet (#7016) but used double knit (8-ply) yarn on smaller needles.  It’s a nice, easy pattern to work.  Happily, they were very well received!
